In the month of August, Jaime and Sonia Durkin became our new seminary students! Vicar Jaime Durkin started the pastoral program and Sonia Durkin the Deaconess program, what great news! Our Lord Jesus said to his disciples in Luke 10:2: “2 He said to them, “There is such a big harvest of people to bring in. But there are only a few workers to help harvest them. God owns the harvest. Ask him to send more workers to help bring in his harvest (ERV). Vicar Jaime and Sonia Durkin currently lead Comunidad Cristiana Elevate a new church plant at Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Garland Texas, here is what they said about becoming seminary students:
“It’s a privilege to be able to serve, we are very excited and happy for the opportunity given to us to learn about the word of God and our church doctrine” (J.D).
“I am very happy and thankful to the Texas District for giving us this opportunity to study at a seminary level the word of God, without a doubt, we will be better trained and equipped to do the call we have upon us, to share and teach the word of God” (S.D).
Overall, EMN has sent in partnership with the Texas LCMS and Concordia Seminary St. Louis seven students, three of them just completed the program, Our Executive Director Jaime Gonzalez, Fabiana Dos Santos and Maria Hernández and four more are currently in the program as of now. What an excited season we are experiencing at Expansion Mission Network, seven seminary students, seven church plants worshiping every Sunday in Spanish and two more pre plants in the works, the Harvest is plenty, but our Lord is fulfilling his promise to send laborers to harvest!
